A Day in Urunga

Urunga is a seaside town in the Bellingen Shire, famous for one of the best boardwalks on the East Coast of Australia. It's the perfect place to enjoy a tranquil atmosphere and water-based activities in the calm waters of the Urunga foreshore.

The itinerary

If you're a sunrise chaser, kick off your day at Hungry Headland. Look close enough and you many spot dolphins dancing through the waves as you watch the sun rise over the unspoilt horizon. If you're here between June – November you're almost guaranteed to see a humpback whale spectacle as they migrate along the east coast.

Drive or cycle along the 3.5km dedicated cycle and walking path into Urunga and fuel up with breakfast in town or make your way to the beautiful hamlet of Mylestom. Nested between the rivers and the ocean, Mylestom has a popular General Store come cafe close to a park shaded by beautiful old fig trees and a scenic picnic area.
